Welcome to the web site of the AELC. We are an amateur astronomy club located in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, focused on the science of astronomy.
Whether you are just starting out in Astronomy and would like to learn your way around the night sky, or need help choosing a telescope, or if you are a seasoned amateur astronomer and would like to share your observing experiences and skills, the AELC is one of the best resources in the county.
Check out AELC’s page on NASA’s Night Sky Network and learn about upcoming events throughout the country.
Our club meets monthly at the Lititz Public Library and all meetings are open to the public free of charge. Each meeting includes what is going on in the sky that month, a presentation on an astronomy subject and time for free discussion and questions. The presentation subject of the next meeting is in the Calendar.
We hold public Star Watches starting in March and continuing through November of each year. These are outdoor (weather permitting), public events where we show attendees astronomical objects through our telescopes and answer questions.
Our calendar contains all club meetings and star watches as well as interesting astronomical events that can be viewed from Lancaster County.
